With Mother's Day being this Sunday, I just want to wish all the moms out there a happy Mother's Day. This has been a great holiday to find television specials for. If you have missed some along the way check out our Mother's Day page.
Desperate Housewives Season 4 Episode 15 "Mother Said"
Edie finds out that Benjamin is not Bree's son but really her daughter, Danielle's. Edie uses this information to blackmail Bree. Edie wants to be invited to parties and the weekly poker game. She wants Bree to treat her like a best friend. Bree can only handle so long and tells Gaby, Lynette and Susan the truth. They storm Edie's house and tell her she has gone too far and are no longer her friend.
Susan's mother-in-law comes to town. She wants to help Susan with cooking and the house because Mike has been complaining to her. When Susan asks Mike to stop complaining to his mom, he says that she is just trying to help. Susan uses club soda to fake her water breaking to get out of lunch with Mike and his mom.
Lynette and Tom get help from a family counselor after Tom's daughter, Kayla gets Preston to jump off the roof. The doctor tells Lynette to spend more time alone with Kayla but that only leads to Lynette slapping Kayla after Kayla threats Penny. During Mother's Day breakfast, Kayla calls doctor and tells him that Lynette has been hitting her.

On tonight: Minute To Win It Mother's Day Face-Off
NBC's catchy game show Minute To Win It is pushing the Mother's Day envelope with a mommy-daughter competition Wednesday night. I'm sure every mother wants to celebrate their special day with a stress filled competition, but at least there is money at stake.

Mother's Day: The Nanny
If you have lost your mother, is it better to try and forget Mother's Day all together? Or do you spend the day remembering the good?
Mr. Sheffield thinks the kids should be distracted on Mother's Day but Fran thinks it is important for the kids to remember their mom.

Mr. Sheffield likes to distract his children on Mother's Day. These year he joins a country club. He should have checked its calendar of events first. They have a mother daughter pageant on Mother's Day weekend and Gracie wants to enter. Frannie fills in as "Mom" And everything seems to be fine until the pageant director finds out that Fran is just the nanny.
Fran and Gracie end up still in the pageant. They do a wonderfully fun musical number together.
And Mr. Sheffield comes around to talking about the children's mother. The episode ends with the family sitting around watching an old family movie.

On Friday I posted a clip of last year's The Middle Mother's Day episode. Well this Wednesday the are doing it again. Forgetting Mother's Day that is. At least this time they have a few days notice. Mother's Day: The Middle
Imagine the perfect Mother's Day. Does it involve getting woken up at 6:30 in the morning to running eggs and burnt freezer waffles? Well that is how Frankie's Mother's Day started on this episode of The Middle.
Oh and my favorite part is when Mike announces that he is going to go watch Sport Center and let Frankie hang out with the kids because it is her day after all.

Frankie doesn't get the best Mother's Day. She get woken up early to a bad breakfast and bad gifts. She really didn't want an inflatable foot massager.
When Frankie's mom, Pat, cancels dinner plans, Frankie and Sue drive out to see her. During the drive Sue admits to stealing a refrigerator magnet. The guilt has gotten to her and they have to pull over do Sue can throw up on the side of the run. Another great element in a Mother's Day celebration.
Once the mother and daughter arrive at their destination, they learn that Pat just wanted a day to herself alone. Frankie, Pat and Sue all end up in tears.
When Pat and Sue return home, the house is trashed, and Mike forgot to buy Frankie the slice peach pie that she wanted. The next day Frankie goes and buys herself a slice of peach pie to enjoy in peace all by herself.
A great Mother's Day special from start to finish.

Mother daughter weekends are a great way to spend Mother's Day especially if they are at a spa. But it might just be too much time together.

What do you do when you have found that perfect gift for your mother only to discover you can't afford it? Do you steal it? No. That would be wrong. You just buy the knock-off. Problem solved.

Chris goes to the department store to my Rochelle some perfume for Mother's Day. But apparently he wasn't fast enough and the only thing left is way too expensive. To fix the problem, Chris buys a knock-off from Risky. Everything would have been fine if Rochelle hadn't broken out in hives after using the knock-off. And of course things only get worse when Rochelle takes Chris back to the department store thinking that is where he bought it.

It worked in all the usual 30 Rock drama as Jack and his mother Colleen fight over the morality of dating two women, Liz fantasizes over the prospects of having Buzz Aldrin for a dad (in a fantasy where somehow she is a man) and the TGS Show tries to idiotically bring everyone's mother on air for a Mother's Day episode.
So say "Happy Mother's Day" to your mom on May 8, and remember how complicated (and wonderful) she makes your life, "even if they're fake."
